Terms of Service

1. What the Service is

Med Guru answers medical study questions using passages retrieved from a textbook library, with a book-and-page citation behind each claim. Higher subscription tiers also include a practice-question bank and a structured preparation course. The material currently offered is oriented to medical licensing exams; the specific exams and subject matter covered may change over time.

Answers are produced by third-party AI language models. The citation mechanism is designed so the model can only cite passages it was actually given, but it does not make the Service infallible.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live, if higher) to create an account.
• You must give accurate registration details and keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
• Accounts are personal and single-user. Sharing an account, or your credentials, with anyone else is not permitted.
• The free trial is one per person, not one per account. Creating additional accounts to obtain further trials is not permitted, and we may end the access so obtained.
• Tell us promptly at support@med-guru.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. Subscriptions, allowances and billing

The Service is sold as a single recurring subscription, on one of several tiers billed monthly, quarterly or yearly. The tier determines the monthly usage allowance and whether the question bank and preparation course are included.

• Free trial. Each account may start one free trial, once. It runs forseven days from the moment you start it, opens the whole Service including the question bank and course, and carries a small usage allowance. It requires no payment details, does not renew, and ends by itself — after which the account has no access until a plan is purchased. A trial is not a purchase and nothing is refundable in respect of it.
• Each paid subscription includes a usage allowance that refills every month, whatever the length of the billing period, measured by the cost of the AI processing your activity consumes. Your account page shows how much of it is left, and we will tell you the exact figure on request. When the allowance is used up, AI features pause until it next refills or the allowance is increased. Content you have already generated stays available to read.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
• You may move to a higher tier at any time. We charge only the difference for the remainder of the period you have already paid for, and your renewal date does not change. Moving to a lower tier, or changing how often you are billed, takes effect at the next renewal.
• Prices may change. We will give notice before a change affects a renewal, and you may cancel instead of accepting it.
• We may adjust the allowance included with a plan for future periods; the allowance attached to a period you have already paid for does not change.

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the merchant of record and reseller of the Service. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle’s terms, and Paddle — not us — handles payment details, invoices, and applicable sales tax or VAT. We never receive or store your card details. 4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share, resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute the Service or its content, including question banks, explanations, and course material;
• use automated means to scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract content;
• attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, payment, or any security measure;
• upload content you have no right to upload, or use the Service to infringe anyone’s intellectual property;
• use the Service to make decisions about the care of a real patient;
• use the Service in a way that breaks the law where you are, or the rules of any examination body.

Administrator-uploaded study material is licensed to you for personal study within the Service only. Where a task points you to a third-party book, video, or question bank, you are responsible for obtaining lawful access to that resource yourself; we do not grant any rights in third-party material and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party publisher or question-bank provider whose material you may separately own.

5. Your content

Your questions, notes, answers, and study history remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the Service — storing your content, and transmitting it to the AI providers described in our Privacy Policy — for the purpose of producing your results. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.

6. Accuracy, and the limits of AI

AI-generated answers can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, including when they carry a citation. Medical knowledge also changes over time. You must verify anything that matters against the cited page and current authoritative sources before relying on it.

We do not guarantee any examination result. Nothing in the Service is a prediction of, or a guarantee of success in, any examination. The Service is independent: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any examination board, licensing authority or publisher, including (without limitation) the NBME, the FSMB or the USMLE program.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Features may change, and we depend on third parties (including AI providers) whose outages may interrupt AI features. Where an outage prevents meaningful use of a paid period, contact us and we will consider a pro-rata credit or refund.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. If we terminate your account without cause while a paid period is running, we will refund the unused portion of that period.

9. Liability

The Service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or opportunity, for examination outcomes, or for any decision made in reliance on AI-generated output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service develops. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.

11. Disputes and contact

If something goes wrong, contact us first — most issues are resolved that way. Nothing in these terms takes away any mandatory consumer protection you are entitled to where you live. Your purchase itself is made from Paddle as merchant of record (section 3), so billing disputes are also covered by Paddle’s terms.
